03 – 07 AUGUST 2017

Our sixth audiovisual immersive edition is taking place for the first time at Le Parc de Joséphine Baker in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, France.

For the past 2 years, INTRINSIC has been presenting unique audio-visual events in London taking form in the ambient/experimental fields. While we have taken temporary hiatus in London, we are very excited to be delivering this festival in Dordogne, signalling a new chapter for INTRINSIC.

From 3-7 August we will be hosting a festival of experimental sound, visuals and well-being.

Stunning live visuals and projection mapping comes from Dreamrec, Cote and Acca. Naturalgoritm complements with decoration concept founded in need to express nature and the harmonious relationships with the Whole.

Alongside the audio-visual performances, we will be bringing a number of practitioners to deliver vinyasa flow and kundalini yoga, healing arts and gong bath, voice and mantra workshops.

Please note our 3-day event Experiment Intrinsic is a journey away from civilisation and city life: a chance to be immersed in experimental sound, visuals and nature.
We DO NOT support a dance floor stage or a sleepless policy.

We will be closing the Park between 5 am and 9 am on Saturday and Sunday.

Sound performances will take a place over 17 hours per a day (12 pm to 5 am) starting on a Friday. Activities such as yoga, healing arts, workshops and live painting start at 9 am to 9 pm from Friday to Sunday.

Located in the beautiful region of Dordogne, SW France, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle sits on the confluent of the Dordogne and the Ceou river.

Dominated by its magnificent castle it is one of the most beautiful villages of France. As you approach Castelnaud-la-Chapelle you will see the castle towering up from the hillside above the river.

Exploring Chateau des Milandes

Only 10 mins walking distance from Le Parc de Josephine Baker is Chateau de Milandes. The Chateau is one of the prettier of the chateaux in the area and is surrounded by attractive gardens. The interior is now restored and maintained in the 1930’s style in which Josephine Baker decorated it. In addition, there are exhibitions and displays commemorating the life of Josephine Baker, which started in the back street clubs of New York and progressed to France where she was very well received and where she played a significant role in the resistance during World War 2.

Le Parc de Joséphine Baker Park

Designed by Joséphine Baker, based on the experiences that marked her life as a woman and artist: a park where world peace conferences were organised, a place where children could play, and above all a place for music, dance, theatre or film screenings. Today, the Park is once again an institution devoted to culture, the arts, education and actions for the benefit of fraternity and ecology. The park also includes Music Hall, Cuban Theater, a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.

“There is only one race, the human race” – Josephine Baker

Welcome dinner

We invite you all to join us on Thursday evening for our welcome dinner at the park’s restaurant bar. Entry is free, with musical performances from special guests on the night.

We recommend Thursday arrival in order to enjoy our full 3-day experience, beginning on Friday 12 pm.

We are happy to say that food and drinks prices at the park will be very affordable. For peace of mind, prices will be cheaper than what you might expect.

During Dordogne’s hot summer period, all ticket holders are welcome to access the park’s swimming pool or take a dip in the river.

Discover the pleasure of canoeing and let yourself be carried by the river.

Descend the 120 km of the Dordogne from Argentat to Beynac, and discover varied landscapes, wooded hills of Corrèze, limestone cliffs of the Lot, and Castles of the Dordogne.
